Background: Passover is the most celebrated holiday in American Jewish life. More Jews participate in Passover than in any other Jewish holiday. The past two decades have seen a proliferation of haggadot, seder inserts, and popular media related to the holiday. The Seder meal is a conversation across generations on issues related to family, history, politics, values, and ethics. The Seder and prerequisite preparation are also an opportunity to reflect deeply and engage personally with the Jewish story. So too, the Passover Project is both a conversation about the biggest questions that Passover evokes interspersed with opportunities for meditation.
